This section will help you be productive in using devAdvantage as quickly as possible.
System Requirements - If you are using Microsoft® Visual Studio® .NET 2003 edition, you are most likely compatible. For more details about system requirements and compatibility please see System Requirements.
Installation and Configuration - To get going quickly you should select all the defaults for the devAdvantage install program and start up Visual Studio .NET. For more details on customizing or configuring your installation, please see Installation and Configuration.
Analyzing First Solution - devAdvantage's default settings make you ready to analyze as soon as you open you first C# solution. To analyze your solution just select the devAdvantage menu, Analyze Solution menu item. When complete, the Analysis Results window will be shown. By double-clicking on an item (violation) in the results window you can go to the line of code that is suspect. Customizing the Analyzer - By default, devAdvantage installs with all rules being used in the analysis. You can modify this by using packaged profiles or creating your own in the Knowledgebase Explorer. To view the Knowledgebase Explorer go to the devAdvantage menu and select the Knowledgebase Explorer menu item.
