What’s New in Community Edition 2.0 XML File output – The output for devMetrics is now an XML file which is run through an XSLT file to create the HTML reports. This provides more flexible formatting as well as more creative uses of the output. Serialized Dataset Output – The XML output file is a serialized Dataset which allows it to be programmatically reloaded and used in more advanced processes. New report format for easier use – A single page report is now generated which is easier to navigate, view and share. Professional Edition with SDK The Professional Edition has the features found in the Community Edition with the additional capability of developing and running custom metrics. The SDK exposes the powerful analysis features of the platform used in both devAdvantage and devMetrics. The Professional Edition also allows you to share and use metrics developed by others with devMetrics Professional Edition.

Software Metrics The following software metrics are provided with both the community and professional editions. In addition, the Professional Edition allows you to create your own measure or use those developed and shared by others. Projects – Total count. Files – Number of files in each project and total. Classes – Total classes in each project and overall. Lines of code (LOC) - total lines in project and overall. Statements - total statements in a project, overall and for each member.
